The last day of kindergarten

No more pencils, no more books, no more WAKING UP THE BABY FROM HER NAP TO GET TO THE BUS STOP ON TIME!!!

On the last day of school David had a big smile, a wiggly tooth, just like he did on the first day of kindergarten. The only difference is that now David can read, he does math, and he has a room full of friends. And we only missed the bus four times!

I think it’s safe to say we had an absolutely phenomenal first year.

On the first day of kindergarten, I cried because I was scared of the unknowns ahead, because I was sad about change, and, let’s call a spade a spade, because I was 36 weeks pregnant and I cried about everything.

On the last day of kindergarten, I cried because WE DID IT! And we only missed the bus four times! This year has been so wonderful and I’m so proud of David and so grateful for all of the ways he’s grown and been challenged this year. God is so good.

Oh, and also because I’m postpartum and I cry about everything.

The struggle to get to school on time is real so I can appreciate you running for the bus! Congrats to you and your kid for finishing kindergarten!

I don’t think postpartum is why you were crying…I think it is because you are a Mom! 🙂 Seriously, I am SUCH a crybaby now and both of my kids are in school. And I’m one tough cookie…until it comes to my kids or diaper commercials about Mother’s Day. Ha ha ha!!

It’s so nice when they accomplish their first elementary school year. It’s such an adventure watching our children grow. Crying is ok. Be proud mama.
