At about five till six

I have so many questions about the idyllic 1950s housewife.

Is the Betty Draper housewife a myth? Or when husbands came home from work, did their wives really greet them at the door with a kiss wearing heels and lipstick? And then did they all sit down to dinner in their tidy home, with their (gulp) well-mannered children?

I have all these questions because, after a long day at work, this is what Tom comes home to.

You know, on a good day.

haha, didn’t they also have maids? nannies? I think that might be the key. I think I’d rather come home to that though…real life and cute buns. Although, some sort of dinner would be a nice perk. My husband is use to chaos, and occasionally dinner.

Naked babies are way more awesome to come home to than dinner and a clean house. 🙂

Betty Draper? Didn’t she have a maid? And neglect and abuse her children? The 1950s housewife probably is a myth,

Remember also, back in the 1950s people usually had parents living with them as well. So lots of help!

  5. Love the chubby legs and the laid- back vibe. I think the modern husband just has to accept that certain things may have changed. These days, when my husband gets home, I am literally barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen…and although I try to have dinner started and the house somewhat picked up, there are no guarantees.

He still loves me, though. 🙂

(I’m also a knitter, a runner and a blogger, and I’ve enjoyed looking around your space! Thanks!)

Oh my goodness! This is too cute! I’d much rather come home to real life rather than perfection. Those little naked buns playing in the water. SO cute!
