The hunt

You never realize how many holiday decorations revolve around balls until you have a ball-obsessed toddler. There are pumpkins at Halloween, ornaments at Christmas, and then there are Easter eggs. David calls them Easter balls.

Our church hosted a huge Easter egg hunt, an event David has been training for his entire life. He treats every day like a huge, perpetual Easter ball hunt.

So this? He loved it.

The egg hunt was the week before Easter, before we got sick, back when we did things like put on real clothes, leave the house, and experience happiness.

It didn’t occur to Tom or I to bring an Easter basket, so we used his backpack instead. How embarrassing. We’re such Easter egg hunt newbs.

Things got real for David when he realized the eggs opened and, unlike the eggs we have at home, these had jelly beans inside them. That’s a ball inside a ball, in case you weren’t paying attention.

We stayed long after the rest of the kids left. David loves an empty gym.

Well, not totally empty. This particular gym was full of jelly beans. He ran around looking for jelly beans, and throwing the ones he found.

Easter egg hunts? Totally for babies. David is ready for more of a challenge. Where do we sign up for the jelly bean hunt?

I bet this was like heaven fornhim!! And No, I’m the newb. Or I thought was n00b?? Lol. Anyway, I didn’t bring a basket either so we borrowed a friend’s (already filled with eggs). And I failed to practice with her, which was why she froze. Too much pressure!!
