Here’s one way I’m probably different than you: I don’t love fall.
I have to admit, I like football and the break in the humidity and the opportunity to gain 15 pounds between November and December, but I do not look forward to fall.
Fall leads to winter, and winter means fewer hours of sunshine, dry skin, and days on end of me challenging Tom Krieger to give me JUST ONE GOOD REASON why we can’t set the thermostat to 85 degrees.
But then, on a beautiful fall day, you go to the botanical garden with a good friend. And then you remember that fall also means little girls in herringbone…
…warm rays of sunshine…
…sharing apple muffins on the bench…
…and standing on a stump, raising your hands and yelling TOUCHDOWN!
Then even I have to admit that maybe fall isn’t so bad. It’s still not my favorite season, but I’ll at least put it in my top four.
Precious photos! I agree, I’m always freezing in the fall and I don’t like how it just keeps getting colder and darker… but I’m trying to enjoy it, especially since we didn’t have the colors of fall when we were in Tx.
