We moved over the weekend and WOW. Moving is a lot of work. And I am not good at work. I am really really good at watching reality television.
Thankfully the kids are doing great with all the transitions, and they’re already used to living in wall-to-wall clutter and chaos.
A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2016
David / My parents brought all our old Encyclopedia Britannica and Childcraft books from my childhood to help fill up the new giant built-ins in our living room. Even though I knew the kids would enjoy flipping through them, I underestimated how much time David would spend looking at the pictures. (Or how much I would enjoy the 80s-quality publishing.)
Mary Virginia / Learning about the windows in the playroom. Rule #1: don’t lean on the screens. Rule #2: don’t mention how beautiful Mary Virginia’s curls are.
Thomas / Thomas loves the new house. Ever since we got here he HAS NOT STOPPED crawl/running around the house. He’s determined to bonk his head on the mantle, fall off the deck, and throw himself in the pool. OH! Did I mention? We have a mantle! A deck! A POOL!
(Thomas is wearing a special birthday shirt made by my friend Tori. And she just started selling them! Visit her Etsy shop here)
You have a POOL?!?!?!
yesssss and it is AMAZING! it was one of the selling points for this house!
A pool?!? Aghhhh!!!!
YES! amazing.
that’s why i was asking how you managed it. i’m worried bc if something happens and i need to jump in, what do i do with thomas? he’s determined to swan dive right in….
You have throw pillows on the couch. You look totally settled in to me 🙂 I’m working through Sunday and then off for two weeks if you want me to take the big kids for a day or two!
Glad to see Thomas smiling in his shirt this time. He looks adorable!
ha! right? he totally rallied for a smile 🙂
(THANK YOU!!!)
I WANT TO SEE PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful photos and children. I love the rules for the windows incl. the one about the curls. The portrait once a week idea is really great. Cheers!
A pool?! Awesome!!! The whole house sounds awesome and your kids are absolutely precious
