Looking back at 2013 with a barrage of links and a few photos

It seems out of order to write about looking back after posting about looking forward.

But one of my favorite things about having a blog is having a record to look back on; it’s amazing how much and how quickly I forget. When I sat down to look back at last year you know what I discovered? 2013 was a great year.

January
I started off 2013 by looking back at 2012, and making 2013 resolutions.
We re-vamped our website by switching from Tumblr to WordPress.
My sister gave birth to her fourth child, Gabby Joy, and we announced that we were expecting our second.

February
I guess back then I had plenty of time to be crafty, because I knitted these shorties for my new niece and made these Easter chair backers.
We were counting down the weeks until our little one’s arrival, and I was doing my best to continue running through pregnancy.

March
Your third trimester isn’t the best time to decide you’d rather not go through labor again, but that’s what I was thinking…
We got snow! We got snow! We got snow!
For a second I thought about organizing. But I didn’t.

April
David got sick, then I sick. Since then we’ve all been sick. Except for Tom, who never gets sick. Even though I threw up on him in the middle of the night.
I walked the Monument Avenue 10K, then at 34 weeks pregnant, I stopped running.

May
Opening an Etsy shop does not count as nesting.
A few months shy of two years old, David got his very first haircut.
I wrote David’s last monthly update.
I got very, very pregnant.

June
I had a baby.
If the above sentence wasn’t descriptive enough for you, I wrote her birth story. These (and a long ago post about our vertical gutter garden) are still the most popular posts on the blog. How we met: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

July
Tom and I celebrated our wedding anniversary.
I wrote Mary Virginia’s first ever monthly update.
We looked around a particular living room and were reminded of God’s goodness.
We revamped the look of our website. Finally.

August
My brother got engaged. (Which actually happened in July, but I didn’t get to high-five him until August.)
I began my post-partum running comeback.
We took a little family vacation.
David turned two, or twenty-four months.

September
Mary Virginia starts piling on the milestones by rolling over for the first time.
David started preschool.
We had a little conversation about discipline
And I kept running

October
David got a job.
I started to get nervous about running a half marathon.
The toddler and I did Halloween crafts. Some he liked. Some he didn’t.

November
Mary Virginia realized we have a cat, and gnawed on my Diet Coke bottle.
And
I RAN A HALF MARATHON! I RAN A HALF MARATHON!

December
My Etsy shop exploded, in the best possible way.
We celebrated Thanksgiving, and then Christmas.

Great year for the Kriegers! I love how excited you got about your half marathon. And I love your kids, even though I’ve never met them!

I think you should attach this link to the upcoming goals link-up party! It only seems right!
