Bracing against the storm

When Tom went out of town last week I made a huge list of things I wanted to get done. I figured that with less laundry, fewer dishes and without a husband to hang out with I’d have time to keep the house clean, trim the bushes, catch up on the blog, and get some Christmas shopping done.

When Tom got home late Friday night the house was a mess and I’d collapsed on the couch in a pile of crumbs and laundry.

One thing I really wanted to do was plant pansies.

I bought them Wednesday. On Thursday when we played outside, David carried them around the yard by their stems. Finally, on Friday, I frantically planted them during David’s nap.

Now, their blooms are heavy with rain drops…

…and they’re bowing their heads against the storm.

Be brave, little pansy.
