Try, “Not Having Kids”: the video that made me realize how long it’s been since I walked up the stairs eating an ice cream cone

I’d like to introduce you to Amanda Giobbi, my best friend from college.

We met at Virginia Tech on my 18th birthday, August 29, 2000.
I was going out to eat with some girls I’d just met on my hall (more about that here), and she made me laugh harder than anyone I’d ever met.

That night, back in 2000, if you’d asked me if Amanda would one day become an Internet sensation, a YouTube superstar, I would have said yes. (Even though YouTube wasn’t around until 2005.)

And I would have been right.

This is Amanda Giobbi, in a hilarious parody skit that has over 1.2 million views, has been featured everywhere including Huffington Post, Mommy ShortsiVillage, BabbleBusiness Insider, and now right here on Living on Grace.

I consider myself a loyal friend, which is why I’ve been digging through my hard drive looking for photos to sell to US Weekly for their “before they were famous” issue.

Congrats, GOB. We’re all so proud of you.

But let’s be real, everyone who’s ever  met you has always known that this sort of thing was going to happen sooner or later.

And you had to save some to actually sell. Can’t be giving this gold away for free!
