This weekend David had some special visitors all the way from Southwest Virginia.

He met his great-uncle David.

All my life we’ve called my mom’s brother “Uncle David” and, when we need to distinguish the two, my brother has been “little David” or (when he was younger) “baby David.”

Now that David Andrew is here, we have a new “Uncle David” and a new “baby David.” My mom has suggested we call now call the original Uncle David “old man David.” I’m not sure if that’ll stick. Sounds like a nickname only an older sister would come up with.

David’s Great Granny also came to visit.

Granny said David Andrew is too pretty to be a boy.  It might not sound like it, but I think she meant it as a compliment.
