July was a huge month for my family. My sister was in the country, which doesn’t happen often, and my brother got married. We were making memories on top of memories, and with all the travel and early mornings, I barely got any sleep. That’s why I’ve been blogging so much about my visit with my sister’s family, and: I don’t want to forget.
I spent nearly two weeks with my sister and her family, and I only took 124 photos. That sounds like a lot, and if we were still back in the era of rolls of film that we had to drop off at the Wal-mart photo counter and pick up a week later, it would be a lot. But I’ve taken that many pictures in an afternoon of my kids playing with the hose.
For the first week of the visit, my sister and I were parenting six kids ages seven and under sans-daddies. I kept telling Tom how busy and tired we both were, but since he’s seen me fill a memory card with photos of tomatoes, he didn’t really believe me until he saw how few photos I took.
And so, because I don’t want to forget the week that David woke up at 2 a.m. asking to go swimming, or getting ice cream cones at Homestead Creamery as big as the kids’ heads, but mostly because kids grow up so fast, here are a few of my favorite photos from the visit.

I love concentrated time with family, especially when there are tons of kids! It makes everything more fun. I’m glad you got this sweet time with your sister. 🙂
I understand wanting to hold onto moments with siblings that are far away. I’m glad you had two weeks with your sister and her family AND to be together to celebrate your brother’s wedding! Congrats!
I love all these pictures. And you. Love you, too.
